What is Eco Creation & ecological landscapes?

Eco Creation & Ecological landscapes are landscapes that are specifically designed to minimize their impact on the environment and function according to nature. These sustainable gardens have some very distinctive attributes that make them good for the environment and good for us!

Ecological landscape functions.

  • Retain and recycle on-site water from rain and other sources.
  • Include some, or use all native plantings, depending on client’s preference.
  • Utilize only organic fertilizers and natural pest and weed control methods.
  • Reduce landscape waste (less material to haul away) and thus less maintenance.

  • Support the natural water cycle with permeable walkways, patios and driveways.
  • Include fruits, vegetables, herbs and other plants of use, based on client’s preference.

Owner Matthew Hayes apprenticed with a company nationally recognized for its environmental work. Pioneering use of organics as well as for fine landscape design and construction. Matthew worked side by side with the owner for more than 10 years. Including major construction sites that included environmental restorations and erosion control projects. Matthew begins each new project by meeting with the client at their location and walking through the client’s objectives and desires. For each project he creates a design that highlights the location’s potential and then meets with the client to decide on an approach that will maximize their budget.
